The latest IMC Version 9.6.0 installer for Windows has been released.

The latest IMC Version 9.6.0 installer for macOS has been released.

New Features, Feature Changes/Improvements, Bug Fixes

New Features

  • Metabolic Network Analysis: Added a new feature (Minimal Subnetwork Extraction) that automatically extracts the minimal subnetwork connecting specified Source and Sink metabolites from a Genome-Scale Model (GSM). Flux Balance Analysis (FBA) can be run directly on the extracted subnetwork. Supports presenting alternative pathways (bypass routes), editing Lower/Upper bounds, graphical Flux display, saving/reloading extraction and FBA results, and exporting the extracted subnetwork as an independent SBML sub-model.
  • Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) Analysis: Canu assembly can now be launched directly from the SEQUENCING menu. Added WSL-based AUGUSTUS and MetaGeneAnnotator (MGA) options to the Auto Annotation feature. Canu, Filtlong, Minimap2, Miniasm, Racon, and MetaGeneAnnotator are now also available on the Mac version (via WSL/native binaries, matching the Windows version).
  • Software License Information: Added "Show 3rd Party Software License Info" to the INFO menu, allowing users to browse the license terms for IMC itself and all bundled third-party software from an organized, per-tool list.

Feature Changes/Improvements

  • Resolved an issue in the Ligation Workspace (DNA Assembly Design Workbench) where button groups and result displays did not fit on screen when working with a large number of fragments. Control buttons are now consolidated into a pop-up dialog, and the Fragment Table, Adjacency Matrix, and Product Table are organized into tabs.
  • BLAST+ executable path configuration is now managed centrally across IMC, GenomeTraveler, and ISAssembler.
  • Added Filtlong, Minimap2, Miniasm, and Racon to the "External Software" component of the Windows installer.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an error that prevented "Show License Info" from opening in environments using software (activation-key) licensing.
  • Fixed an issue where the Mac version of ClustalW did not run on current macOS environments (rebuilt from source).
  • Fixed an issue that could cause installation to fail when upgrading from a previous version.
