IMC B2C Common Lane Operations

You can use the "Layout Style" dialog to add lanes, edit, and delete lanes in the main feature map.

When loading a genomic sequence into the main current directory, the default layout style is usually applied and the main feature map is displayed according to the default layout style.

We will explain the example data "Bsub50kb.gbk" as an example.

This section explains how to add, edit, and delete lanes from the state where only the Vertical Scroll Bar lane is defined as the layout style.

First add the scale lane. Select Settings -> Layout Style ... from the menu.

The "Layout Style" dialog will be displayed.

Only "Vertical Scroll Bar" is displayed.

(Normally the default layout style is applied and other lanes are also displayed)

Add "sequence lane" here.

Click "Add" at the bottom of the dialog.

The "Lane Setting" dialog will be displayed.

By default, Feature Lane is displayed.

From the "Lane Type" pull-down menu, select "Sequence".

The display changes as follows.

Click "Set". 

The "Lane Setting" dialog closes and the "Sequence" lane is added under the "Vertical Scroll Bar" lane of the "Lane Style" dialog.

Click "Apply" at the bottom of the "Lane Style" dialog.

The "Apply?" Confirmation message will be displayed.

Click "Yes (Y)".

The "Sequence" lane is displayed under "Vertical Scroll Bar" in the main feature map.

Add "Ruler for Sequence".

Click "Add" and select "Ruler for Sequence" from "Lane Type" in "Lane Setting" dialog.

The display changes as follows.

Click "Set".

The "Lane Setting" dialog closes and the "Ruler for Sequence" lane is added under the "Sequence" lane.

Click "Apply".

The "Ruler for Sequence" lane will be added at the bottom of the main feature map.

Move the "Ruler for Sequence" lane up.

Check the "Ruler for Sequence" lane checkbox.

Click "Up" twice.

"Ruler for Sequence" lane will move to the top.

 

Click "Apply".

The sequence scale lane is also displayed at the top even on the main feature map.

Next I will add a feature lane.

Click "Add". The "Lane Setting" dialog is displayed, which is the screen for setting the default "Feature" lane.

Click "Set" as it is.

"Feature xxxx" is added to the first place in the "Lane Setting" dialog.

(This description depends on the selected feature key)

A "Confirm?" Confirmation message will be displayed.

Click "Yes (Y)". The feature lane is displayed at the bottom of the main feature map.

(The shape, color, labels etc of the feature will change depending on the setting situation)

All the feature keys are selected and displayed on the above, but edit this and narrow down the feature keys displayed in the feature lane.

Check the "Feature" lane.

Click "Edit".

The "Lane Setting" dialog will be displayed.

All of the feature keys in the Feature pull-down menu are selected, but click on "CDS" and only CDS is selected.

Click "Set".

The "Lane Setting" dialog closes and the description of Feature lane of "Layout Style" changes like "Feature {CDS} ...".

Click "Apply".

The "Apply?" Confirmation message will be displayed.

Click "Yes (Y)".

Only the CDS is displayed in the feature lane of the main feature map.

Next, let's hide the "Sequence" lane.

Click the eyeball icon in the "Sequence" lane of the "Layout Style" dialog.

Immediately, the "Sequence" lane will be hidden.

Once again, click the position where the eyeball was located, and it will be displayed as it was.

Finally, delete the lane.

Check the "Sequence" lane.

Click "Delete".

A "Delete?" Confirmation message will be displayed.

Click "Yes (Y)".

The "Sequence" lane is deleted from the "Layout Style" dialog, but the sequence lane of the main feature map is still displayed.

Click "Apply".

The "Apply?" Confirmation message will be displayed.

Click "Yes (Y)".

"Sequence" lane will be deleted from the feature map.
